Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Sangita Ganbote, the wife of Kaustubh, one of the 26 killed, described how tourists tried to hide their religious identity. Sangita said, "We wiped off our bindis and began chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ when we saw them asking the men to recite the azaan". NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar condemned the attack.
