After announcing his resignation as Canada's PM and Liberal Party's leader, Justin Trudeau said Leader of Opposition and Conservative Party chief Pierre Poilievre is not the right person to lead the country. Trudeau cited Poilievre's views on climate change and other economic issues as the reason. Notably, general elections were earlier slated to be held in Canada in October 2025.
