In case an IPL franchise retains a maximum of six players, ₹18 crore, ₹14 crore and ₹11 crore will be deducted for the first three retentions from the team's mega auction purse of ₹120 crore. For fourth and fifth retentions, ₹18 crore and ₹14 crore will be deducted. The sixth retention has to be of an uncapped player (₹4 crore).
