Researchers have identified a 4,000-year-old caravanserai (trade route inn) at the Harappan civilisation site at Kotada Bhadli in Gujarat, as per a study published in L'Anthropologie. This would make the inns almost 2,000 years older than those on Silk Route. "We often connect Harappan trade...with cities and ports...now it's clear...they also had...strong logistical backbone," lead author said.
