Western Railway has announced a dedicated compartment for senior citizens in its Mumbai local trains. This decision provides relief to over 50,000 senior citizens who face hardships due to overcrowding, even though there are 14 seats reserved. Western Railway will convert one luggage compartment in each of the 105 non-AC local train rakes into a dedicated senior citizen compartment.
