The body of Nandakumar, a 21-year-old fourth-year medical student from Coimbatore, was recovered three days after he was washed away at Anju Veedu waterfall near Kodaikanal. He was part of an 11-member group, and five of them, including Nandakumar, strayed off-trail during heavy rain, police said. Rescue teams found his body about one kilometre downstream after a relentless search.
