Dietitian Shalini Arvind said that drinking green tea at the wrong time can lead to acidity, poor sleep, or reduced nutrient absorption. She said drinking green tea on an empty stomach leads to much higher absorption of its compounds than having it with food. For maximum benefits, consuming it between meals or before eating may be more effective, she added.
