RBI has announced final redemption of Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) under 2019-20 Series VI, issued on October 30, 2019. The redemption has been permitted on October 30, 2025, and the price has been fixed at ₹11,992 per unit, which is a 217% gain over issue price of ₹3,788. The government introduced the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) in November 2015.
