The Supreme Court, while pointing to report of 12-hour jam occurring on highway in Kerala, asked why people should pay toll if traffic lasts for 12 hours. The court was hearing plea of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) challenging Kerala High Court's order suspending toll collection at Paliyekkara in Thrissur district over traffic and poor condition on NH-544.
