India is "one of the most important relationships" for US in the world, Donald Trump's nominee for US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said. Speaking during a Senate hearing, Gor said he'd focus on increasing India-US defence cooperation, "ensuring fair and beneficial trade, deepening energy security...furthering technology". He said India and US aren't far from finalising a trade deal.
