India will conduct its much-delayed national census soon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday, after a delay of about four years. "Whenever we announce the census, all information will be made public," Shah added. The first phase of this decade's census was expected to begin on April 1, 2020 but had to be postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.
