Kanchha Sherpa, the last surviving member of 1953 Mount Everest expedition that made the first successful ascent of the world’s highest peak, died at the age of 92. Kanchha passed away at his home in Nepal's Kathmandu. Kanchha Sherpa was 19 when he accompanied the team led by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to the top of Mount Everest.
