Archaeologists have discovered a 42,000-year-old yellow ochre stick at Neanderthal sites in Crimea and Ukraine, believed to be the world's oldest "crayon". The Science Advances study notes that the tool was carved, shaped, and reused multiple times, indicating deliberate craftsmanship. Researchers say it reflects Neanderthal creativity and possibly an early form of artistic expression.
