Satish Bhaskar dedicated his life to sea turtle conservation. In the 1970s, he walked 4,000 km of India’s 7,516 km coastline to identify sea turtle habitats. His work created a guide for future conservationists to understand the behaviour of olive ridleys, hawksbills, and green turtles, helping prevent their extinction. His pioneering surveys laid the foundation for marine conservation in India.
