Five first-year MBBS students from Vandanam Medical College were killed and two others injured after their car collided with a KSRTC bus in Alappuzha on Monday. The students were reportedly travelling at high speed when the crash occurred, severely damaging the vehicle. Emergency responders had to cut through the wreckage to extricate them. Injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
