Heavy alcohol use, defined as regular alcohol consumption of three or more drinks per day, is linked to more severe brain bleeds (or a bleeding stroke) and earlier long-term brain damage, according to a study published in Neurology. Researchers found that about 7% of brain bleed patients reported consuming three or more drinks a day. The study analysed 1,600 adults.
