The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar has suspended MLC Satish Chavan for six years due to anti-party activities. Chavan has been accused of releasing a leaflet criticising the ruling Mahayuti coalition for failing to ensure reservations for the Maratha community. Chavan's actions were uncalled for and warranted disciplinary action, state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare said.
