The Supreme Court on Monday said time has come to decriminalise defamation. The court said this while hearing a plea filed by Amita Singh, retired teacher from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) against news portal 'The Wire'. The case pertains to an article published on the news portal in 2016. "How long will you go on dragging this?" the court added.
