VP Ramalingam and K Beichhua were elected BJP presidents of Puducherry and Mizoram, raising the tally of state chiefs to 16. Single nominations were also filed in Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. With this, BJP moves closer to electing its new national president, which requires at least 19 state unit heads out of 37 organisational states to begin process.
