Scientists from the University of Maryland and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center proposed in a study that aliens haven't contacted us yet because they may find spaceflight "mundane". Dr Robin Corbet argued that alien societies might stop advancing after a point and may no longer be interested in large-scale exploration. They released the study on the preprint platform arXiv.
