Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Tuesday announced a ten-day holiday from October 8 to 18 for government and aided schools to complete the state's 'caste survey'. The deadline for completion of the caste survey was also extended by ten days. CM Siddaramaiah said that the decision was taken "after the teachers' association requested ten more days to complete the caste survey".
