Puducherry has been witnessing heavy rainfall since Tuesday noon, disrupting normal life. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for the Union Territory for October 22. In response, all schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal regions will remain closed on Wednesday, announced Home and Education Minister A Namassivayam.
