The Indian Express gave one and a half out of five stars to 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3'. Shubhra Gupta wrote, "The scourge of lazy, formulaic writing weighs heavily on...film." Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 suffers from the same things that 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' did: stereotypes instead of characters, forced humour which refuses to land, and tasteless lines bordering on the risible, she wrote.
