Kolhapur has become the first district in Maharashtra to implement a flood management plan, addressing floods along the Panchganga River. The plan includes strengthening embankments, dredging the Panchganga River, and upgrading drainage systems. Kolhapur district collector Amol Yedge said that the plan shifts the district’s approach from reactive flood response to proactive preparedness.
