Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah announced a ₹2,000-2,500 crore relief package for farmers after heavy rains and water release from Maharashtra damaged crops across 10 lakh hectares. 117 villages in Kalaburagi, Bidar, Yadgir, and Vijayapur are in distress, with 80 care centres opened. Around 95% of crops in eight districts have been affected, with funds released after joint surveys.
