Ahmedabad's Hatkeshwar Bridge, which was declared unfit three years ago, is set to be demolished at a cost of ₹3.9 crore. Built in 2017 at a cost of ₹42 crore, the bridge has been shut since 2022 for any vehicular movement due to structural safety issues. A portion of a 43-year-old bridge in Vadodara collapsed on Wednesday, claiming 20 lives.
