Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said the state government has taken various measures to improve condition of Muslim women who were abandoned by their husbands. "To improve condition of such women...Bihar government started financial assistance of ₹10,000/ month in 2007...this amount has been increased to ₹25,000/month," he added. Kumar said before 2005, no work was done for Muslim community in Bihar.
