Though rare, bee stings can trigger anaphylaxis and cardiac arrest due to severe histamine release and cardiovascular collapse, says Dr Almas Fatma, General Physican, from Navi Mumbai. High-risk individuals should carry epinephrine and seek urgent care. In people with severe allergies, venom may trigger cardiac arrest. Epinephrine must be carried and warning signs shouldn't be ignored.
