The Mumbai Police on Friday registered a non-cognisable offence case against Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) MLA Sanjay Gaikwad for assaulting a canteen staffer over "stale food". Sanjay had said that his action was "harsh" but it was "necessary". Notably, the MLA canteen caterer's licence was suspended after FDA found food safety violations during the inspection.
