Film Federation of India's jury head N Chandra, spoke about why 'Homebound' was chosen for India's official entry for Oscars 2026. He said, "It was a very grass-rooted film. There were lot of things subject-wise, performance-wise, emotion-wise...divide of rural India was shown in direct way." He added, "It's such an important film, and surely great bet for India at Oscars."
