Following the massive stampede that claimed the lives of 41 individuals on September 27, the makers of 'Kantara Chapter 1' cancelled promotional event that was scheduled to be held in Chennai on 30 September. The announcement read, "We believe this is a time for reflection and solidarity with those affected. Our deepest condolences and prayers are with the families impacted."
