Uttarakhand government has issued an order, announcing that the name of village 'Khooni' has been changed. The village located in the state's Pithoragarh district will now be known as Devigram. Residents had earlier said that the word "Khooni", meaning murderer, carried a stigma and cast a negative image of the community.
