Supreme Court has ordered that no new suits will be filed against religious places while it hears the pleas challenging Places of Worship Act. It also directed civil courts to not pass "final orders including orders of survey" in pending cases, like those in Varanasi, Mathura and Sambhal. Meanwhile, it ordered the Centre to file its reply within four weeks.
