Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's upcoming film, confirmed that 'Thama' is not a horror-comedy. He explained that the film is a "romantic film with certain supernatural elements backing it". He further added, "It was a conscious decision because the Maddock Supernatural Universe has given us enough horror comedies in the past."
