UN will cut 25% of peacekeepers in nine operations globally due to lack of funds. That would amount to between 13,000-14,000 troops and police, an official said. US is the UN's largest peacekeeping contributor and in August US President Donald Trump cancelled a payment of about $800 million citing failure of operation in Mali, Lebanon and Democratic Republic of Congo.
