Defending his government's decision to revert to using ballot papers for the upcoming local body polls, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said, "Have other countries that are using ballot papers gone back to Stone Age?" He questioned why the BJP was afraid of using ballot papers. The Karnataka government cited erosion of public confidence in EVMs as the reason for the decision.
