Ankita Bhandari, who was murdered by former BJP leader Vinod Arya's son Pulkit and his aides in 2022, had alleged she was being forced into sex work by Pulkit. In a WhatsApp text to her friend, Ankita had said she "won't sell myself for ₹10,000" just because she was poor. The 19-year-old worked at an Uttarakhand resort owned by Pulkit.
