External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said US has deported 1,080 Indian nationals from its soil in the past five months. Of the over 1,000 Indians, 62% were sent back on commercial flights, he added. Jaiswal's clarification came after multiple visuals surfaced online showing Indians deported by US were chained and restrained on their journey back on a military aircraft.
