Over 1,500 police personnel were deployed in Tamil Nadu to control crowd that gathered to take part in the funeral procession of SA Basha, the mastermind of the 1998 Coimbatore serial bomb blasts. Basha died on Monday evening due to age-related ailments, police said. Basha and 16 others from Al-Umma had been serving life imprisonment in connection with 1998 blasts.
