Nearly 1,500 tourists are stranded in various parts of Sikkim as roads have been blocked due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall. Officials said that the tourists have been advised to remain in their hotels. Meanwhile, the search for eight tourists, who went missing after the vehicle in which they were travelling plunged into the Teesta river, has been suspended.
