One in every five people in India aged over 45 years had diabetes in 2019, amounting to around 5.04 crore individuals, as per study by Lancet Global Health journal. It also found that 40% of individuals were unaware of their condition. Additionally, study found that 46% regained control of their blood sugar levels and 59% achieved control over blood pressure.
