Over 12 lakh women used the free bus travel facility in Andhra Pradesh within 30 hours of the launch of the 'Stree Shakti' scheme, an official said. The scheme, launched on August 15, offers free travel on select APSRTC buses for women, girls, and transgender persons with state's domicile status. Beneficiaries saved around ₹5 crore on the first day.
