Over 14,000 striking contractual officers and employees of the National Health Mission in Chhattisgarh resigned after the government dismissed 25 staffers leading their agitation. The employees, protesting since August 18, are demanding regularisation of services and better working conditions. An NHM union leader said the government opted for punitive action instead of resolving their demands.
