The 14th Sirarakhong Hathei Chilli Festival began in Ukhrul, Manipur, celebrating the region's famed chilli variety while promoting sustainable farming. The festival celebrates the chilli noted for its aroma and flavour. It aims to promote agricultural heritage, sustainability and development initiatives. Opening day included a flag hoisting ceremony, cultural performances and a buyer-seller meet.
