Varun Anand, a 15-year-old boy, once weakened by chronic kidney disease, got a kidney transplant from his mother. Sports helped him regain strength, winning three gold medals in table tennis, badminton, and tennis in 12-14-year age group at the 2023 World Transplant Games. "I’d never known I had this potential," he said. Varun was battling silent form of kidney failure.
