Sixteen jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) have been shortlisted for gallantry medals for displaying "conspicuous bravery" and "unmatched valour" during Operation Sindoor. The personnel shot down Pakistani drones and rescued injured comrades, and continued to perform duties even while being injured in Pakistani shelling. The medals were announced ahead of the 79th Independence Day.
