A 16-month-old baby with a congenital kidney blockage was successfully operated on through telesurgery using India's SSI Mantra robotic system. Dr V. Chandramohan performed the procedure remotely from Gurugram, 1,600 km away, while the child was in Hyderabad. Enabled by 5G, the hour-long surgery marked the world's youngest telesurgery case.
