As many as 1500 saints have been verified in Uttarakhand's Haridwar under Operation Kalanemi, with 167 'dhongi baba' (fake saints) identified so far. Police have taken necessary action against them. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has initiated the operation to arrest those impersonating saints and allegedly cheating the public and "harming the image of Sanatana Dharma".
