At least 17 people were killed on Thursday in a car bomb attack and a separate attack on a police helicopter in Colombia. President Gustavo Petro attributed both attacks to dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC, a now-defunct leftist guerrilla group. The attack on the helicopter killed around 12 police officers.
