Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by three wickets on 1 June 2008 in Navi Mumbai to win the inaugural edition of IPL. Led by Shane Warne, RR successfully chased down a target of 164 in 20 overs. RR's Yusuf Pathan, who scored 56 off 39 balls and registered figures of 3-22, was named Player of the Match.
